Cliffs Natural Resources - A Five Year Partnership!

 

 

 

October 23, 2012—Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. (NYSE: CLF) (Paris: CLF) announced today that its charitable giving arm, the Cliffs Foundation, is making a $50,000 pledge to North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity.  The pledge, which will be administered in $10,000 increments over five years, will help build homes for low income families in the communities that surround our mine operations on the Iron Range.  The first $10,000 check was delivered to Habitat for Humanity’s executive director and board members at the construction site of a home in Eveleth last month.

“Cliffs Natural Resources has long supported Habitat for Humanity’s mission to provide decent and affordable homes to people in need,” said Dana Byrne, Cliffs’ vice president of public and government affairs.  “We hope this donation will help Iron Range families by fulfilling their dreams of owning their own homes.”

This is the first multi-year grant of its type received by North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity. 

“This partnership truly shows the commitment that Cliffs Natural Resources has to eliminate poverty housing and serve families in our local communities,” said Nathan Thompson, executive director, North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity.  “Multi-year commitments like that of the Cliffs Foundation help the affiliate grow as it works to bring together volunteers, funding and partner families to continue addressing the affordable housing needs in North St. Louis County communities.”
