Looking Back at 2007...Planning Ahead fo 2008

Dear friends of Habitat,

This time of year North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity (NSLCHFH) looks back on the past year’s accomplishments and picks goals to strive for in the future. We are presently in this planning cycle and while the planning is not completely finalized yet the process should be complete early in April.

A few highlights from 2007 were: one three bedroom and one four bedroom newly built homes and a three bedroom rehabilitated home completed; a home repurchased from a family was refreshed and sold to a new family; a very successful 500 bike run fund raiser; a fund raising dinner and silent auction with approximately 100 people attending; and many, many other events and chances to inform the public about North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity and it’s programs. All of this was accomplished by many very dedicated and talented people who worked very hard to “Make it Happen”. I would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you.

For 2008 the plans are not fully finalized but we hope to: increase the houses completed to five; hold the bike run, dinner and all the other functions from 2007; add well qualified new board members and site supervisors as well as building volunteers. Our planning process I feel is a good one which includes our own Board and others who are specialists in planning for Habitat for Humanity. Here too the people who volunteer and the staff are impressive and have my sincere thanks. The future looks bright for North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity and with God’s help and our hard work we can build decent, safe and affordable houses in our communities.

In partnership to further Habitat’s mission,

Rod McPeak
Board President
