with Thanks...

It is less than a week until Thanksgiving as I write this article, and I reflect on the many things we have to be thankful for this year. Our family is all well and healthy, while so many others are not. We are able to help others who need help, which is deeply rewarding. This last is due to Habitat for Humanity and my association with it.

During 2008 our North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity Affiliate has completed three homes and the partner families have moved into these homes they helped build. An additional house is nearly complete in Aurora and a fifth house is well under way in Hibbing. This will mean that Habitat for Humanity has provided five families with a safe, affordable home this year. I feel especially thankful because not only was I involved as president of our affiliate’s board, but I was also directly involved with building the house in Soudan. All this building would not be possible without the donation of time, talent, material and financial support. Without your support and that of our partner families none of this could have been accomplished. For this I am especially thankful. Thanks to all who have contributed to our success this year.

Next year is well along in the planning. We have lots on which to build and partner families who need homes. With your help we will have another great year!

I want to thank all of you and wish you a safe and blessed Holiday Season and New Year.
