We want to thank everyone who came to celebrate with Habitat last Friday at our Building the Future dinner! 115 guests helped us raise over $7,000 by purchasing tickets and bidding on silent auction items.
Chefs Keith Haasl and Dennis Perkat prepared a delicious chicken meal that the Iron Range Youth in Action volunteers quickly and adeptly served to each table. An ensemble from the Virginia-Eveleth-Gilbert Orchestra graced us with beautiful music during hors d'oeuvres and dinner. And capable volunteers, Rich Soderberg, Dan Kotnik, and Wayne Carlson, skillfully handled all of the kitchen cleanup after dinner, greatly reducing the stress on our Event Committee.
We also want to thank our speakers: Executive Director Nathan Thompson, Habitat Board President Rod McPeak, and especially Scott and Ann Hanson, the first North St. Louis County Habitat partner family, who shared with us their story of growth and strength in their Habitat home.
And, most importantly, we want to thank you: all the amazing volunteers who give so tirelessly to advance the mission of Habitat. Thank you for supporting Habitat with donations of time, energy, and money. Thanks to volunteers like you together we are building homes...building hope!
We look forward to seeing everyone again at build sites this summer as we continue to build the future with Habitat!
