As Deniese has said, "Home is where your heart is." Habitat understands that, for many families, the heart of the home is in the kitchen.
Habitat for Humanity has collected hundreds of recipes from Habitat affiliates all over the world, available in three great cookbooks. We thought we'd share a delicious recipe from these cookbooks each week. Try them out and let us know what you think! Lovin' Dough's Potato Chip Cookies
Yield: 60 servings
1 pound butter, softened
1 cup sugar
3 1/2 cups flour
1 cup crushed potato chips
1/2 cup chopped pecans
5 tablespoons (or more) confectioners' sugar
- Cream butter and sugar in mixer bowl until light and fluffy. Beat in flour and potato chips. Stir in pecans. Dro pby heaping teaspoonfuls onto nonstick cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes or until lightly browned around edges. Cool for several minues on cookie sheet. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Remove to wire rack to cool completely. Do not substitute margarine for butter in this recipe.
